# Setting up the SAP SuccessFactors integration

Integrating SAP SuccessFactors with Checkmate streamlines your candidate background screening process. Once set up, you can launch checks in Checkmate without leaving SAP SuccessFactors, and view the progress of checks directly within SAP SuccessFactors.

This integration is not an out-of-the-box setup, and some configuration work will be required on the client side before it can go live.

:::(Info) (Before you begin)
Checkmate integrations are configured at company level. To avoid any issues, we recommend completing the steps below using your company's Checkmate user account with the highest level of permissions.

## Configure the integration in SAP SuccessFactors
1. Navigate to **Background Check Central** within SAP SuccessFactors.
2. Toggle on **Enable Background Check in Recruiting**.

3. From **Admin Center** navigate to **Recruiting External Vendor**.
4. Create a new vendor profile for Checkmate entering the vendor name and type.
5. Save the vendor configuration.

6. From **Admin Center** navigate to **Manage Templates**.
7. Select **Job Requisition**.

8. Click on the appropriate template to open the **Template Settings**.

9. Click on **Application Status Configuration**.

10. Click to open the **Feature Permissions**.

11. Confirm that Background Check is listed as a status or add to the status list.

12. From **Admin Center** navigate to **Manage Recruiting Groups**.
13. Ensure users are included in the correct groups. Users will not see the Checkmate **Background Check** tab, where results can be downloaded, without being assigned to the appropriate group.

## Get your API key from Checkmate
1. While signed in to your Checkmate account, navigate to your company settings by clicking your initials in the upper-right corner and selecting **Company Settings**.
2. Navigate to the **Integrations** tab.
3. Copy your API key from the **Checkmate Account API** card.

## Configure a Webhook in SAP SuccessFactors
1. From **Admin Center** navigate to  **Intelligent Services Center** (ISC).
2. Select **Update of Job Application Status**.

3. Select **New Event**.

4. Enter the Business Technology Platform (BTP) webhook URL and connection details.
