# Setting up the Ready Employ integration

Integrating Ready Employ with Checkmate streamlines your candidate background screening process. Once set up, you can launch checks in Checkmate without leaving Ready Employ, and view the progress of checks directly within Ready Employ.

## Create bundles in Checkmate
You'll need to create your bundles in Checkmate before proceeding with the integration setup.

## Get your API key from Checkmate
1. While signed in to your Checkmate account, navigate to your company settings by clicking your initials in the upper-right corner and selecting **Company Settings**.
2. Navigate to the **Integrations** tab.
3. Copy your API key from the **Checkmate Account API** card.

## Enable the integration in Ready Employ
1. While signed in to your Ready Employ account, navigate to the **Admin** tab.
2. Click on **Integration Settings** in the **System Administration** menu.
3. Select the **Checkmate** card.
4. On the Checkmate popup card tick the **Enable Checkmate** checkbox and paste the API key you copied from Checkmate into the **Checkmate API Token** field.
