Candidate checks via SmartRecruiters

Once the SmartRecruiters integration is set up, you can launch background checks and track their progress without leaving SmartRecruiters.

If you haven't set up the integration yet, see Setting up the SmartRecruiters integration before continuing.

Launch a check from a candidate profile

  1. In SmartRecruiters, navigate to the People tab.

  1. Click on the candidate you wish to launch checks for.

  1. Scroll to the Assessments section and click the + Order assessments button.

  1. A window will pop up.
  2. If you have more than one assessment integration, ensure Checkmate is selected in the dropdown.

  1. To select checks using the Checkmate Checks Selector select the All Check Selector option.
    Alternatively, search or navigate to your bundle of choice and select it.

  1. Click Continue.

  1. Click Send.

  1. If you have selected the All Check Selector option, wait for the View attachment icon, and then click to open the Checkmate window. This may take a minute to appear.

  1. A window will popup, prompting you to select your desired background checks.
  2. Select the individual checks you'd like to launch. If your organisation has more than one brand, select the appropriate Brand.
  3. Once you've selected your checks and configured any options for those checks, scroll down and click Launch Checks.

Once a bundle has been launched, it will appear under the Assessments tab on the candidate's profile.

Tip

Hover over the circle icon next to a check to see what stage it is at.

Click on the View attachment icon to open the Checkmate window in a new browser tab.

The following 3 tabs allow you to view progress and edit candidate details:

Background Checks - From here you can view the status of the check, add additional checks using the Add Checks button and download results when checks are complete.

Candidate - This tab allows you to update the candidate's details at any time during the background check process.

History - This tab shows a chronological log of events related to the candidate's background screening process.

Result files can be downloaded via the Background Checks tab when the check has been completed.
