Once the Teamtailor integration is set up, you can launch background checks and track their progress without leaving Teamtailor.
If you haven't set up the integration yet, see Setting up the Teamtailor integration before continuing.
Launch checks within Teamtailor
There are two ways to launch checks within Teamtailor:
- Automatically via a stage trigger.
- From a candidate profile.
Once a trigger has been configured on a job stage, checks are launched automatically when a candidate is moved into that stage. No manual action is required.
To launch checks from a candidate profile follow these steps:
- Select the candidate from the candidate list.

- Click More.

- Select Add Integrations from the pop-up list.

- Select Check candidate from the Checkmate option.

Select the type of check you want to apply. Choose either:
- Individual checks — select specific checks to apply to the candidate.
- Preconfigured bundles — select a bundle you have set up within your Checkmate account. Bundles configured in Checkmate will appear here automatically.
We recommend you choose one of these two options rather than the Multiple background checks option.

- Click Check candidate.

- The candidate will receive an email with a link to begin their Checkmate journey.
Monitor progress
When a check has been launched, a Checkmate card will appear on the candidate's profile in Teamtailor displaying the current status (for example, Sent).

Click See details on the Checkmate card to open the Checkmate view in a new browser tab.

The following 3 tabs allow you to view progress and edit candidate details:
Background Checks - From here you can view the status of the check, add additional checks using the Add Checks button and download results when checks are complete.
Candidate - This tab allows you to update the candidate's details at any time during the background check process.
History - This tab shows a chronological log of events related to the candidate's background screening process.

View results
Result files can be downloaded via the Background Checks tab when the check has been completed.
